The County of Lengueglia-Torri, churches and boxes around Cipressa

The first part of the walk on a characteristic mule track will take you to the discovery of the Torre del Gallinaro, built in the 16th century by the local inhabitants to protect themselves from the attacks of the Saracen pirates; being in a strategic position to observe the stretch of sea up to Antibes, it was used to identify the arrival of enemy boats in time. Continuing along a pleasant and always panoramic path, immersed in the luxuriant Mediterranean scrub, it will be possible to identify ancient pastoral stone shelters called "boxes", scattered along the path that will lead you to a vast and wild expanse of heather! From here the descent towards the town of Lingueglietta will begin, counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy with its ancient parish church, the measures of the medieval market and the rare fortified church of San Pietro. On the way back, one last little wonder: the delightful church of Sant'Antonio dating back to the 10th century, located on a suggestive crossroads of important communication and pilgrimage routes of the past.
